How long did it take for your mount to get delivered? After seeing your post I immediately went to the website and ordered one and also ordered a 3x micro prizm from optics planet. There was a disclaimer when I ordered the mount that says mounts are made to order and could take up to 4 weeks. I really hope it doesn't take that long

They had 20-something in stock a few days ago.

Mine is set to arrive tomorrow, along with my 5X PA microprism. Lucky coincidence! I ordered it on Sunday, shipped Monday.

Looking for a simple sight that is small and non illuminated. kind of like the ww2 size scopes. Closest thing I found was a Leupold mark ar….any suggestions? Only need simple crosshairs.

See All is the only non-powered micro optic that I've had experience with...

Mini-ACOG would be preferable to a full size one, I'd think.

I wonder how it would hold up with a full size ACOG
I think the bolt pattern is different.

I have a PA 5X optic in the full ACOG pattern. It's heavy - 18 oz vs 8.5 oz for the equivalent mini. I was looking into making a custom mount similar to the Cogburn for it, but I'd definitely tie it into the stripper clip guide as well. It would have to be mounted either higher on the receiver, or cantilevered backward over the receiver heel about 1"

@FedPaper46 Have you gotten around to mounting your 5x on the cogburn mount? If so what are your initial impressions. I just ordered another cogburn mount and a 5x micro prism. I was gonna wait until I saw some reviews of how the mount would work with the 5x before ordering one but it turns I'm far too impatient and impulsive to wait. I have 2 cogburn mounts and 2 primary arms micro prisms on the way, one is the 3x and the other is the 5x.

They arrived in the mail today. Messing with it right now actually, trying to decide on a spacer setup.

So far this is pretty workable, but mounted higher than I'd like. View attachment 522081
That's a pretty nice looking setup. I can't wait to get mine. It nice having new gear coming out for the M14 that gets me excited, that's a pretty rare thing

This works, too. It's much lower profile, but only the front two screws mounted in the 5X is less than ideal. Also the 12 o clock red dot mount won't sit down in the Cogburn mount (or even some of the spacers).

I think it benefits from a bit of cantilever.

A 4-hole spacer, about .200-.250 thick, with the front hole threaded, would be perfect for me for eye relief & using the 12 o'clock piggy back mount.

In the mean time I think I'm headed to the mill to cut down the straight riser to ~.200

Pretty cool but with no rear sight if the optic goes down, you’re goin’ down.😯
If the battery goes- it has an etched reticle. If the glass goes- the optic housing can be used as a big ghost ring rear sight.

Run out of ammo- beat 'em silly with your battle rifle... ain't a problem been invented that an M14 can't solve. 😎

More random thoughts:

The piggyback dot mount was way cooler in my head. There are fitment issues, you can't use the lens covers, you have to buy another adapter plate to convert whichever version of Glock MOS this is to something useful.

The low profile cantilever mount, OTOH, is pretty much perfect. Leaves good access to the front set screws of the Cogburn mount, and puts the 5X at the right spot for my eye.

The Cogburn mount itself is excellent. Fitment to the receiver is perfect.

The 3X optic in this setup might be allowed in Service Rifle competitions, I think.
