I would like to know if anybody has gotten this upgrade and how well it worked for them....
225 dollars is hard to justify for heat treating and CS hammer spring and some new HT pins...

I am going to go out on a limb here and say yes it is worth it but like everything else Ron does his is the best there is, and its way overpriced. Please dont hurt me now. You may want to start by getting it stoned by a smith that knows how to do a trigger job and see how you like it. From what I understand the pins are a little larger and these are primarily for a worn out trigger housing. This is just what I heard and may not be gospel. It is just what I have read and heard, I cannot quote a source. Sorry if my 2 cents upsets anyone. Please remember I did start off by saying it is worth it, because I have heard everyone love there trigger when they get it back. Sorry to be the voice of discent.

Heres something that just came to mind.

SEIs pins are supposed to be harder than standard GI to keep them from wearing as fast. How hard would they be in relation to the other parts i.e. the trigger housing? If they are harder than other parts wont the other parts wear instead of the pins? If thats the case Id rather replace pins instead of more expensive pieces.

I have no idea of the hardness of the housing etc., Im hoping someone can shed some light on this.

I would imagine that is why rod does the 80HT on the trigger group in the MAX PAK, to keep HT consistancy throughout the group and not wear any one component more than the others... just my 2 cents

thank you for all your comments and answers... all of which are a great service to TFL

Guys! There is absolutely No Reason to spend that kind of Money on a M14 Trigger, NONE! ( AR 15 yes) Any M14 or Garand Smith worth His Salt can Bring any Trigger Group, GI, Chinese, SAI etc up to NM Standards for about $ 45!
There are no Flames intended Here but there just seem to be People that believe that spending Money on Rifle Parts that they do not need will make them shoot better!ICONSAD

Without sounding like a suck up, I want to thank those of you with credentials for chiming in on these forums. I dont think many are looking to just throw their money away, but sometimes something you like just really grabs ahold of you, and you obsess a bit and want only the best (even if it is only salesmanship). It might not be about artificially enhancing skill, but more like developing an overly critical mind, and overthinking something. Sometimes it takes an old head to say "Hey son, you getting a bit silly".

To those that have dealt with this platform for awhile, im sure the novelty has worn off a bit. For those new (like myself) its a brand new obsession, and im sure some of our (my) questions are old, beat to death , and annoying. It is very good of you guys to be able to tolerate and still help a newb out.

SEI Trigger Upgrade

I have used this service of SEI. The work is impeccable, and worth the money. Groups definitely tighten up with the SEI trigger work. Although I haven't fired enough rounds to know for sure, I suspect there is less of a risk of doubling or tripling of shots over time with the SEI process than with simple stoning of the trigger group parts.
