I got one of the complete Colt lowers Brownells sold for $180 a couple months ago and it looks just like that. The only difference is mine is a CR prefix and yours is an LE prefix. Mine has the same poor casting line in the trigger area and the same incomplete "L" in colt. I hate to say it but I think it's a legit current production Colt lower unfortunately. Mine looks pretty ugly but at $180 I didn't complain for a complete lower.
Yes, same here. I have four Colt M4 lowers I bought from Brownells and they too look like that.

Well the first problem is, is that what you were shipped is not what you bought, the seller shipped the wrong item, it happens. A seller with that high a rating should be expected of better service and they should make it right, sucks for you to have to go through the hassle. Have you contacted the seller? The newest Colt that I have is a SP6920 from early 2012 and it is very nice.

The newest other AR lower that I have is a Spikes Tactical that I bought in January of this year as an almost complete lower, minus the stock, buffer, buffer tube and spring, and it is very nicely done.

I don't know if your receiver is a fake or not from the pics.

Some Colts have left the factory looking like the machine work was done with a dull hatchet. That is why I stopped buying Colt products.

Attached are pics from a thread in AR15.com. The new carbine was received by a FFL and they were trying to get Colt to trade it for one that did not look like the machine work was done by Ray Charles.

Just pulled my LE6920 out of the safe I bought as a complete rifle NIB in 2016, the markings look about the same with a couple funky letters like the "L", the die line on your trigger area is about par on these, although I will say mine is just a little better, they don't remove it completely but rather just smooth them over. I will also say your overall machining looks a bit rougher than mine, but, functional. My thought is those being bought as stripped or complete lowers from outlets like Brownell's probably have cosmetic defects and Colt sets them aside to be sold as parts, but, they are still legit & functional. Colt has been suffering from poor financial & marketing decisions for some time, this after living high on the hog with the military contracts they've lost, and, ignoring their commercial markets, so, quality has slipped a bit, I've also noticed they outsourced some of their parts like furniture to other defense contractors (P&S).

All in all that appears to be a legit Colt lower to me, albeit a little rough...

I also acquired several of the Anderson lowers for $30 during the sale and they look decent. I also have a few PSA lowers that look much nicer than the Colt photo and cost me about $40 IIRC, I know that I have purchased a complete PSA lower with Magpul furniture for around $120.

I got bored and had some parts sitting around, so, I bought an Anderson stripped upper/lower and built another carbine with a Colt barrel assembly & BCG. I must say for the money Anderson is pretty decent, and receiver fit is pretty tight :

Looks like a Colt lower to me. Just because it has a prancing pony doesn't mean it's gonna look like a Ferrari. The only reason I buy Colt parts (CO T or CC T roll stamp sometimes) is for clones.
And thats exactly why i bought this lower for a MK12 Mod 1 clone but no way in hell im putting my upper on that thing, i know the markings are there but like another member said the finished maching was done by Ray Charles, but now with the expanse series which subcontracted parts this lower could have been made someone else.

Looks like it was just a error, thats being fixed i was offered the parts which i refused, regardless if i can build my own i stated i wasnt satisfied with the receiver, im getting a OEM complete lower shipped to me today so good news, so she will be complete soon for now she will share a lower to be test fired

If you're not happy with it you did the right thing. I only buy Colt parts sight unseen through 3 dealers online, Brownells, Shark Arms, or Arms Unlimited.
Too many shady "dealers" out there.
That is a wise course of action and it applies to more than Colt parts. It is prudent to only buy from an vendor with a good reputation and good customer service.
