My side stamped Polytech has served me well for 35 years. I wore out one barrel and replaced the bolt, barrel and gas system when I had it fixed 10 years ago. It has been the only M-14 style Rifle I've kept. I've had more others than I can remember, but she's my girl.
I also have a Chinese upgrade built by Clint McKee which is an excellent rifle.
It is built on a Polytech Receiver and all other parts are like new USGI.
Absolutely beautiful rifle and an expertly Fulton assembled.
Hey, by the way, now that M1As, M305s and similar are banned in Canada, what are those guys gonna do?
Turn them in complete? Cut them up? Can they sell them overseas now before the deadline?
Anyone know about this?
Used to own a Federal Ordnance M14 built with Chincom parts. Never had any problems with it, but there was some galling on the rear of the bolt's locking lugs.
I picked up a very nice side marked Polytech last year. I like it a lot. Second one I've owned, first one was a heel marked Polytech I got for 349 bucks back in the early 1990s new from a gun shop in Federal Way, WA.
