Hey, all. I'm about to acquire a Rem 700 SPS tactical soon and I plan on handloading for it. I would like to duplicate the military M118LR round to send through my bolt rifle (and maybe my M1A), but I'm having trouble finding load data online for the components I'm planning on using;

LC brass
175 grain SMK's BTHP
WLR primers
IMR 4895

If I could get a point in the right direction I'd really appreciate it gents. I don't have a chronograph so load development by projectile velocity won't work.
I load 42.5 4895 pull down powder. LC 02 m118 LR brass Rem. Magnum primers. This is a slightly compressed load*
I fired a mixed 20 round mag. Of reloads and factory M118 LR and shot a 5” group at 400 yrds.
pressure looked fine primers looked all the same after being fire.

I have found that the Matchmaster does a great job with any powder as long as one takes the time to adjust the powder type during calibration. Whatta Hobby!

Art,
What setting do you use for IMR 4064, they don't have it on their chart. Is it the same as IMR 4895?

I have been using either a 1 or a 2 in the match mode, the same I use for Varget because they are both big chunks. Each kernal weighs about .02 gn so you can count what you need to be exact down to the .02 gn. When using powders that are smaller kernals like 8208 or BL-C2 I move up to a 3 or even a 4. Whatta Hobby!
