Gents,

Just received several 30 round mags from Micheal Foeller/Csspecs in Florida. Nice looking mags, but not cheap. $115.00 for two including shipping. Packaging is no frill/military style and nicely done. Here's a few pics for you to salivate over. I'll test next range trip, but they look very good and seem to fit the rifle(s) well.

These have the potential to be very good for the M-14 community if they work out. Time will tell...

CSSpec mags are very well made. They specialize in offering mags that are for unusual platforms (Vepr AK rifles & shotguns, Yugo .308 AKs, etc.) or have either different capacity than what is currently available. They specialize in platforms that have restricted import numbers (like the Vepr-12 shotgun) so the current mags are pretty pricey or only come in 5rd or 10rd capacities. I have some Vepr-12 Shotgun 8rd mags that are $55 vs. $100 for a factory mag. They have really expanded on the Vepr line of rifles (other than .223 & 7.62x39mm) as the Russian import restriction has cut off the supply of magazine imports.

I believe that CSSpec makes a 30rd mag for the Yugo .308 AK that uses a mag similar to the M14. Many people use to modify M14 mags to work in the Yugo Ak .308 imported guns. It's so close to the M14 mag, they can offer a different capacity (30rds) than the usual M14 mag. They won't offer a 20rd one unless you want to pay the $55 they charge for it and order a batch of 100 mags (maybe 1000 mags).

I remember when CSSpec was just starting off. They specialized in Saiga 12ga & .308 mags. The mags were very well made, but were a little rough looking. The new stuff is worlds improved and is as nice as anything. They are definitely well built and worth the money.

Yeah back then it was impossible to find the Yugo(Mitchell Arms) .308 mags and when you did find them they were 100-200 each depending on the source. CSS really helped out with the supply but now they are importing new yugo/zastava .308 mags for their current .308 AK rifle that are being brought in.

Thank you for posting this.
Years ago I remember reading about these mags, but never got around to buying some.
And regretted that choice since then.
I realize they aren't "practical" for most things... but, I still wanted to try something different.
I bought 4 of them, and they are VERY well made. Sturdy and feed well. Finish is consistent throughout the mag.
Frankly, for the price, they are very well made.

It kind of amazes me how well made. Especially given the "one off" aspect.
I would like to know / see the production of them.

I was saving the website posted on these in my maybe file.
But after seeing all the good reviews I went ahead and ordered a couple.
another great thing is that they didn’t try to Jack up the freight. Up here in Alaska it’s a big factor on what companies I deal with.
these guys only charged $7.50!

I was hoping to give a range report on these myself, but it’s -45 here and with the price of Ammo I don’t really want to go to the range and just step outside and start shooting!
And steel shooting benches , and stools, suck in this kind of weather for any kind of accuracy🥶
Oh, not to mention, you can’t see more than 50 yards for the ice fog!
Edit: it just went to -50 at my house.

I see they are back on their website. They had disappeared for a while. I bought a few over a year ago but never did shoot them. (A deployment got in the way) They looked to have a parkerized finish. It says on the website now that they are nitride finished. Even better if they are different than the old ones, nitride resists rust better. I may order a few more. You can never have too many mags.
