When shopping for a lightweight barrel and parts, both barrel and hand guard came to BCM, I decided to treat myself to a complete upper, a set of Daniel defense gi style a1 sights, and some noveske grip panels.

I could not find a total weight anywhere so that's the purpose of this thread.
Fit and Finnish are excellent, much better than any two uppers I have slapped together. The upper needed a good tap to lock into my rock river lower, but the holes were aligned perfect and now they separate easily.

With the a1 fixed sights with no magazine, no light ,and no red dot,my total weight unloaded is just over 5 pounds. This tapered 14.5 barrel is a lighter build than my 8.5inch pistol with a quad rail attached thanks to the aluminum / magnesium BCM handguard. I may invest in a magnesium lower to shed some more.

I am running a Vltor gunfighter BCM mod 4 Charge handle and a fail zero bolt and bc.

I am very excited to get to the range and report back on this gun. It has the Giselle super dynamic three gun trigger, and b5 sopmod stock.

Both this and the scar in my other thread are chrome lined!

Look at the taper I made sure these pics are taken from same distanced and cropped with a grid. It's heavy profile an inch or so then medium on down to ultra light profile. I read fn machine guns are like this but I don't really know. Benefits are rigidity:weight improvement as well as better barrel harmonics.

Lower with MOE carbine stock and ergo grip is 2.17-pounds. Total rifle with MOE midlengh hand guard, DD 16" pencil barrel, A2 upper, FA BCG and A2 flash hider weighs in at 6.46. Of course that includes a standard front sight post.

One thing I will say is that the finish on my MAG lower is extremely fragile and it's not that pretty. Function wise I have no complaints. It's my second rifle and not my go too. Tried to keep it light and simple.

Update, w/ elzzeta light mount and light we are looking at 6.87-pounds. A little over seven with an empty mag.

Didn't make it to the match today we have had nothing but storms. I refuse to without being sighted in. They are kinda strict about sight ins so no point in wasting ammo.

Maybe I can give a range report this afternoon. This is my first 14.5. I did pick up a 200 round battle pack of PPU M193, we'll see.
