Winchester Model 12 Riot Gun, page 131, last sentence:

"Unlike the M97, there are no known M12 riot guns with factory installed sling swivels."
On the next page he has two "U.S." marked M12 riot guns, one without swivels and one with. If his research is correct re military M12 riot guns, the swivels were added to the bottom M12 by the military after delivery, perhaps by the Armory that received the shotguns, or perhaps by the unit(s)? Who knows...

...that's all I know.

ON EDIT: Random factoid re Vietnam era Model 1200 trench shotguns - the rear sling swivel used on these 1960s era M1200 shotguns was actually the same rear sling swivel used on the M79 grenade launcher. (aka the "Blooper"). I had to track down a set for my M1200 trenchgun reproduction project.

and here's an M79 with the same rear sling swivel (same part used on both the wood and fiberglass M79 stocks):

....that's my random factoid of the day.
