Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a 1942 Winchester Model 12 riot gun (serial 937,4XX) from my favorite local gun farm. They are selling off a collection for a widow. The story goes that the now deceased collector purchased this Model 12 from a retired Saint Paul police officer (no PD markings on gun). This riot gun is in excellent shape considering it's 77 years old. The metal finish is great, the bore is like a mirror, but there are a couple hairline cracks in the stock. Anyway, the question I have is about the sling swivels. I have read that factory sling swivels (other than trench guns) are like hens teeth, rocking horse poop, and honest politicians. I'd like to get some opinions on whether these sling swivels are factory Winchester or some kind of vintage aftermarket parts. I'm hoping somebody here has seen something similar. Thanks for any help.
