I have posted these before, but with consultations of one of our esteemed members will post mine to start this off. Perhaps a monthly contest gentlemen?

Here goes: My M1A Started off as a Scout, with a polymer stock. Second hand, found out on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington:
First addition was the Harris Bipod:

Then the addition of the Nikon 308 Scope:

Then The Paint Job: (I was also putting together a site for Cerakote & Painting. Decided against due to all the FFL problems & Hoops. Still do it for friends) Took off the Harris Bipod.

Talking to Tony Ben (who did all of the upgrading, except for trigger done by Ted Brown), he suggested the Black Feather Chassis & the Mid Weight Lothar Barrel in 22 inches (I still have that Scout Barrel I am holding to re a Scout build!) This was it with the Mossberg Butt Stock & Nikon 308:

Got Bored with the Mossberg, attached a pistol grip and an A2 Stock along with a Vortex 4.5-25x50 Scope:

After a Year or so in this Iteration I bought a new Vortex 6.5-25x50 strapped it on and moved the other Vortex to my 700 Rem. I changed out the Butt Stock, and mounted a Picatinny Rail and slapped on a Foregrip. This is the most comfortable iteration yet. Sure, the M1A is heavy but what a great all around rifle:

And with this, I am now saving my pennies for the Scout Build! Thanks For Looking!

edit: here's your details, @Tom Paine. I got your details right here, pal. Come and get them details.

This one also started out as a Scout Squad, then I couldn't leave it alone so I bought the M21 stock from Springfield (back when you still could), and a 22" barrel because it turns out that I think it looked "more betterer" after all. This is a Criterion medium-weight barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor, because I didn't want to reload in .308 when I already have dies, brass, and powder for 6.5CM, and also 6.5CM is about 20% better than .308 in every metric that I care about.

I've got a NightForce 4-16x42 ATACR on a CASM mount, which I like more than the Sadlak (I know I'm in the minority opinion there, I'm used to it). With this one I can single-load rounds from the left side while keeping my trigger hand/arm/shoulder in position and steady, which wasn't a factor when I bought it but sure is useful now.

Still ironing out some kinks with shooting from a bipod, I may abandon the practice while I get a load developed because I think it's causing more shot dispersion than I might otherwise have.

I appreciate that, but regardless of what I get built, I doubt I'd collect the votes to win anything.

This one started life as an SAI Loaded, walnut stocked. After a USGI fiberglass stock, ARMS 18 scope mount and an extra scope I had lying around, I made my version of an M21. I was attempting a "jungle tiger" look with the paint scheme but wound up with more of a "nauseated zebra". I'll try to do better next time...

Also posted before, M1A with a light weight USGI match barrel shortened to 18.5 inches and threaded for an M16 flash hider with HKG3 front sight installed. I prefer this type of sight to the USGI M14 sight as it is quicker to get on target and is more visible in lower light conditions. Does require shortening of the rear aperture's tail to get it low enough to work.

USGI fiberglass stock using PC7 epoxy to fill selector cuts and receiver voids. Forend is lined with 1/8 inch PC7 epoxy for stiffness, adds about 1lb of weight.

Kevlar/fiberglass/graphite stock all buggered up from having the paint react to a silicone gun sock. Turned to goo. Stripped, sanded, recontoured and painted. Detail strip and cleaning of the barreled action, reassembled and sighted in with a Redfield scope on one of those super rare elusive Bassett low scope mounts discussed throughout the threads.
