Two good friends on an African hunt for cape buffalo. Ricky used a custom built Shiloh .45/110 and my good friend Doc used an 1895 Winchester chambered in .405. Doc is a retired machinist and machined his own monolithic bullets.

Not too surprised, I have the same rifle and caliber, its a potent round. I took both of mine with a .375 H&H. My first from Tanzania in 1985.

An 1874-pattern Sharps has been on my dream list for several years. The two issues why I will probably never own one are that they are very, very not-inexpensive rifles, and they fall into that category of a Want versus a Need. They don't fill a practical niche in my rifle battery, so spending $2500-3500 on one won't give me enough emotional ROI to warrant all the other things I need to forgo to afford one.

That’s the same model I owned not near as fancy as the 1874’s but was a good shooter mine was heavy the barrel was a lot of the weight.

Nothing wrong with the Pedersoli’s they’re great rifles. After retirement a Cabelas I helped open I sold two.
