SAI MA9102 Standard
S/N: 304342
Date: 03-1-13
Headspace: 1.632
Tech: HH

no USGI part to be seen. the trigger housing has no parts # on it, like on the bolt and op rod, and I THINK I like that, also it looks like the heel stamp is small like the origin ones,

Hello Thomas,
Manufacture date is 8/2012 the exact chamber measurement is on a tag with the new firearms when they leave the factory , however used ones vary with the number of rounds shot thru them. It left here as a model MA9106 which is our Standard rifle with black composite stock.
The factory head space range for a standard rifle is 1.6310 & 1.634, shop tolerance.

Have 2 Springfield Preban type rifles SN 256xx I bought new in 1983. Second one is SN 765xx. Interesting story on the 2nd one, bought it at a Cabelas, in about 2003. Bore was full of what looked like rust, I asked for a rod to check the bore, (I did, it wasn't) but the library guy let it go for $800. Seems the bore looked bad and was marked as such in their "book". The "rust" was fuzz from a gun case. worked out. Both guns are standard grade, GI parts, and excellent shooters.
