SA, Inc. M1A serial number born on date database (000001 - 100000)

Moderator, could we get this thread made as a sticky?

M14/M1A fans, let's put together a database of the dates M1A rifles were assembled at the factory. This information will go into the book M14 Rifle History and Development

Here are the requirements:

1) List the M1A serial number and the factory headspace tag date or the month and year SA, Inc. Customer Service says it was built.
2) You personally have to have read the serial number and date of the factory headspace tag or you personally corresponded with the Customer Service Department. No second-hand reports.

I'll start. These two serial numbers and assembly dates are from the factory headspace tags:

052122 - 11/13/89
134855 - 07/27/01

Ed and others, it would be nice to list the head space and model type with each serial number but I've got other things going on at the same time. Thank you for the information and assistance though.

Hi Different,

Sorry for omitting and thanks for everything...163386 is a SA Standard with fiberglass stock, and as mentioned was headspaced to 1.633.

The deadline for information to be added to the print version of the book M14 Rifle History and Development is Friday 02/18/05. That's when I plan to send the manuscript to the publisher. 8)

By you're data base it should be between 7/00 and 12/00.

There should be a tag that was attached to the trigger guard that indicated the factory headspace and the date it was checked.
