I just ordered it and didn't select a color. I'll give Jon a call in the am, if he doesn't email me 1st.

I'll put this on a bula 19 " rifle. It's in a GI fg now, and I have a Winchester big red too, but neither look exactly right, I think a new rifle needs a new stock, I'm hoping it looks as clean as yours delong31!

I'm sure it'll look great. It'll be more rigid and lighter than mine to boot. Getting the Sadlak rail on it? Given you're dropping a bula in it, I'm assuming it'll be dressed up with a >1x scope. My scoped rig is 12lb10oz with an empty mag and the bipod is a godsend. .

If you can do without the rifle for a bit and open to paying for extra shipping charges, I'd talk to Jon about sending your rifle in to get it alignment bedded. If you do, one thing to consider is the stock will not be easily interchangeable for different rifle actions once it's alignment bedded to your 19" bula.

Ah. You said you were dropping a Bula in it and I'm only aware of their XM21(or 25 idk) receiver which just has the integrated rails. I'm guessing now you're talking about the bula barrel.

Whatever you're dropping in, you're going to like your new stock! Just don't lean it against any trees and walk away...you'll have a hard time finding it again.

Everyone knows that I'm a die hard Wood or McMillan stock guy and if they don't, well they do now.. However when Tony got one of Jon's modified stocks while I was in town I got too fondle the one while it was there. So whom ever it was that owns it, surprise it has some of my cooties on it! Don't worry I've had all my shots...

Now back too the stock in question, I have got too say it has a very stout solid feeling unlike your typical flimsy std. USGI syn. stocks are. The texture while looking super aggressive really wasn't, fine where it needed too be and med where it also needed too be. All without any sharp or spikey areas that would stab you or file off hunks of skin. If I had too describe it, Its really difficult but I would go so far as too say it felt also like dry shark skin without feeling abrasive.

To say I was impress, that would be a understatement! Congrat's too the owner and Congrat's too its creator....
Haha. Well, if it's the one that Tony used for his video, it's mine. I agree with your attempt to describe the texture of the stock. It looks like it'd be abrasive but it's anything but. I love it.

I would describe the texture like something you'd feel on a display while waiting in line at a Disney ride. You know the texture that the theme parks use when constructing cave walls that you have to walk through; it's like that. It appears rough, but when you run your hand across it, it's actually smooth, but not too smooth.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and Thunder Mountain. Now, whenever I'm in line at Disney (which, thanks to my wife is all the time) I'll be thinking of the Jon Wolfe Mod-Fib stock!

Thanks a lot for your vids Tony, I may consider getting a Jon Wolfe stock for my JRA/Bula M14 clone and try to reinforce my own USGI stock for my M1A scout squad with carbon fiber. I would rather trust him to do a professional job for my forged M14 build.

Reinforced my USGI stocks back in 2006 by doing the following:

USGI synthetic stocks are the only ones I have on my rifles. I have modified them slightly by filling in the selector holes and the voids in the receiver area with PC7 steel epoxy. Also used PC7 to line the sides and bottom of the forend. Do not go more than 1/8 inch deep in the bottom of the forend or the oprod will bind.

Though this will add about 1 pound of weight, it stiffens the stock and gives it a very solid feel. I like PC7 because it has very strong adhesion, much better than Brownells Steel Bed.

I'm surprised that the original FG stock, alreadyweighs more than even the NM heavy stocks

USGI walnut #1 34.3 oz Tru-oil
USGI walnut #2 33.7 oz finish stripped
USGI walnut #3 33.7 oz spray camo, glass bedded
USGI walnut #4 39.1 oz, oil finish

USGI NM birch, medium hvy dwg # 11010263, Sykes, routed for bedding 34.9 oz oil finish
USGI NM walnut, medium hvy dwg # 11010263, S.A., glass bedded 36.5 oz oil finish

USGI NM mystery wood, heavy contour dwg #9352638, Fajen 33.9 oz no finish
USGI NM walnut, heavy contour dwg #9352638, Fajen 41.4 oz no finish

USGI fiberglass 36.9 oz mil finish
USGI fiberglass #2 40.8 oz spray can camo
BTW, I'm a big fan of the classic wood stock and blue/black metal components.

But, that FDE/dark tan J Wolfe stock with dark metal looks primo

Looks like these are sold out through June 2017 now? I'm always late to the show... :) Do you guys know if I can somehow sign up for the backorder or do I just monitor his site until they show back up as being able to be ordered?

I can't believe I missed the boat on the last round of these. That is some beautiful stock and it's the first thing I've seen that has a great pricepoint. I'm definitely on the hunt for one now. Can anyone tell me if I need to send my rifle to John to be fit? or is his bedding job generic just to reinforce spots? Thanks guys. Maybe I'll put a "want to buy" ad up.

You don't need to send it to Jon; I'd recommend it though. It will limit that stock to only work with the receiver Jon fit it to - so be aware of that.

If you're buying one used that's been alignment bedded, you may need to relieve some areas to fit your action in.
