Russell40 suggested a good site. My source shows that 237,661 k98k's were built at Borsigwalde in 1939. Not sure if this # is correct but it appears that the luftwaffe took delivery of a total of 51,563 K98's in 1939. Borsigwalde did a good job on their mausers. I know wherer a bolt mismatch 243/39 is for sale right now but I'm trying to avoid it. It will leave with me if I go back in there. Good luck...Mo
Thanks, guys! I don't run across many matching early 98K's in decent condition very often anymore. Other Lufts I've had over the years were always in above-average condition, as is the case with this one. In fact, there's old cosmoline remaining in the bolt innards and barrel trough. At some point long ago, the rifle received some hot shell splinters but these are minor and the proofs are still visible.DI2
