Today, I watched parts of the prayer service, CIA visit, Women's March, Spicer's rough press conference, and a short, silent clip on C-Span.

A black SUV approached an entrance to the Pentagon. A solitary Marine General Dunford (Chairman, JCS) greeted the passenger, the new SecDef, retired Marine General Mattis.

I can not imagine the number of problems General Mattis has dealt with during his career and who could have been a better selection for Secretary Of Defense??? Those politicians on the Cabinet selection committee should have simply said we are honored that you would come back into the service of America and a most welcome aboard Sir. Some attempted to harp at his nickname of "mad dog" and from what I can tell Sec. of Defense Mattis wears that title with great pride for it was given to him by his fellow Marines. Not only is the man a General but an intellectual and a very serious scholar of World History.
He is a National Treasure.

Mattis was my Bttl CO during Gulf War-I in 91, 1/7. Excellent leader and human being. He was a Father to us during those days.
