Tom, the Gunny's trench gun was a Winchester M1897, they were used in both WWI and WWII. The weapon held 5 rounds in the mag and would also accept the M1917 Enfield bayonet on the lug mounted under the barrel.

I usually contain my time to M1 Garands and M1A1 carbines and WWII airborne stuff, but now Hawk has got me building a Rem M870 Mk1 shotgun like he's doing, amoung other projects.

Tom, you and Six should ask Hawk what he did with the perfect Rem 12 ga barrel I sent him for his 870 he is building. I'm wondering if they sell tape measures in NY, we got them in Texas. :lol:
