I just bought a 94 Bush rifle and after looking around I notices my stock is different than most. Does anybody have an idea
if it's stock or aftermarket? I'm new to the M1A world so I have a lot to learn.

I've got a 1986 and 1990 Springfield Armory catalog and I'm pretty sure that stock is pictured in one of them. I'm at work now and can't check. Will look when I get home.
P.S. Nice bushie and welcome to the form.

Thanks, I've already learned I have the dreaded Springfield
scope mount, I'll have to rectify that later. I can tell hanging out with you guys is going to get expensive. GI6

You have not idea how expensive, but you won't stop smiling.

I posted a scan of John Shaw (70's IPSC Champion) using an M1A with a laminated stock exactly like that. He said that it was from Springfield Armory.

It was an option back then. I also remember seeing it in one of the older Gun Bibles.

Looks cool and is probably really rare.

Aloha,

Tom O.

At home now--listed in 1990 Springfield catalog as a Shaw Standard stock--A special walnut stock with extra thickness in the front to accommodate the harris bipod. A favorite of IPSC shooters. Sold then for $154.00
