Everybody needs to petition FAXON to start making M-14 barrels again. They must still have the program and ablility to run the CNC machinery; eh?
Regarding Brother Reg's question: Does Ronnie Morris turn out barrels on Douglas blanks anymore? What about Boots Obermeyer? What about Ron Smith's barrels ( I know, not heavy, but still) ?Brother Reg, do you really need a "heavy" barrel as there are many options for standard and medium weight barrels now days that shoot as accurately as the good ole' heavy ones, if not better.

Ronnie didn’t turn barrels, Gene Barnett did. Ronnie got them from champions (Barnett) or Krieger. Boots had a stroke and is done last I heard and he only rough profiled them.
I've been in contact with their team internally. They are working on a solution, but I can't say more than that.Got this a few minutes ago
"Unfortunately, these barrels are out of stock at the moment, and we cannot order them from our German facility due to importing issues.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Krieger bought Obermeyers equipment when Boots retired. I'm going to see if I can get a Kreiger blank machinedEverybody needs to petition FAXON to start making M-14 barrels again. They must still have the program and ablility to run the CNC machinery; eh?

Message Shortbox4x4 right away he might be able to hook you up.Who makes a Super Match barrel these days other than Krieger? Krieger is unobtanium these days
The last time Ronnie Morris did a barrel for me, it's been a few years ago, I had to supply my own. Gene Barnett wasn't well and wasn't able to supply barrels.Everybody needs to petition FAXON to start making M-14 barrels again. Boots didn’t retire. He had a stroke. Last I heard the building is locked up. Again last I heard his mind was solid and wanted to go back to work but it’s not happening. He asked Billy to lock up the building for him because of people coming around.Krieger bought Obermeyers equipment when Boots retired. I'm going to see if I can get a Kreiger blank machined
I had posted on snipershide and then I was also asked to come over to the M14 forum by Random Guy. I’ve been on here a few times over the years checking stuff out but never joined. So I joined and made a post about making a run of them.
Had the post open/going for 2 months maybe longer. Guys put they’re name in the hat and when I went to say we are doing it and asked for a commitment a few dropped out/never got back to me.
So out of two different forums and x amount of time the total number of orders as it stands is about 20 barrels. That’s why I cannot say there will be another run of them in the future. It’s just demand. Since leaving Krieger back in 2003 and us starting Bartlein I’d say we only get like 3 to 6 request a year for M14 and M1G barrels.
It all started because three of us in the either wanted to rebuild a M14 and a M1G that we started talking about doing it.
Out of all the requests for M1G when I thru it out there I only got replies for a total of 6 barrels. 3 GI pattern and 3 heavy match pattern. I don’t see us making a run of them.
I have a M1G GI pattern on one of my guns. I had Dave Ferrante make me two more. I had one spare and Tracy Bartlein snagged that one from me yesterday. The other one is going on one of my other Springfield M1s next week sometime that I’m rebuilding.
I can make you a rough turned blank for an M1G and I would suggest you have Dave Ferrante finish it for you. We make him rough turned blanks from time to time and as he needs them he will give me orders for them.
I love the M1G still my most favorite rifle believe it or not. It was also my first match service rifle and the first rifle I ever bought. Love the M14 also. Not just for me but for anyone interested in these guns I wish parts where more plentiful and more new receivers available as well.
