I have tried whiting in the grooves for the windage marks and both elevation and windage knobs. I've tried both crayon and white paint. Is there a better/easier way to do this? The crayon comes out easily when you rub the excess off :( and the paint seems to leave a slight film :( . I'm open to suggestions....

Paint elevation knob

Hawk,I use TESTOR's model paint--I apply it but let it dry about 10
minutes before using the Qtip and WD40 to remove the excess, seems
to work for me as can be seen from my pic.

Hawk, Even better go to Hobby Lobby and get one of those grease markers called a China marker. Ask for the white one. Works great. Rub it in and wipe off the excess with solvent. I do all my GI weapons that way.

White Paint fill on Sights

Here's a real "ghetto" way that we've been doing up here in Kanada:

Whiteout (Office stuff) in the handy "pen" style applicator, works really well in all your sight knobs, bolt/ M14 part/drawing numbers, too.

Then ACETONE off the excess... Have fun

At least we can remove the stuff if we ever need to....

Cheers,
Barney
