Ok guys I have the Bassett mount on the way .I went with the original picatinny rail model . Now my question is this .wWhat scope to buy . I have a couple on other rifles but I would like some feed back on a leatherwood if any of you have used one but I am open .I will be taking scope off and reattaching so that is why I went with basett mount plus the reviews from the forum were all good . So what do you think and is there anyone on here who used the ART back in the day it looks pretty simple to use on the leatherwood web sight .

I have the Chinese ART model, I think it's a M600, the low, low end, but I think closest in profile to the originals. eBay buy for not too much, just couldn't find or afford an original. It's ok, feels kind of cheap in places, but I'm not that well versed in rifle scopes. Don't think I would ever use the bulletbdrop feature, just going for the 'look' and use for short ranges. Glass seems OK, pretty bright for what it is. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Oh, customer service was OK, got a manual from them pretty quickly, but they stopped responding when I asked about a replacement thumbscrew. This was even after they told me they probably have parts and I offerred to pay.

Do a search on here for scopes and you will find that the M14 is hard on glass if it's not quality. I recommend looking at SWFA Super Snipers and Vortex PST's if you are on a budget. Find what you want and save till you can buy it; buy once cry once. You will regret putting cheap poorly made glass on this platform. Take a close look at the SWFA SS 3x9.
