Guys I am wanting to build a socom style gun out of the polytech I got my hands on. Where would I find a used socom stock at? Also what would be a good source for a 16" or 18" barrel? I can't cut my barrel down since it is chrome lined can I?

thanks for the info.

Smith Enterprise has some 16" socom barrels and they also have 18" barrels. I have one of their 18" barrels very accurate.

A polytech or G.I. barrel is too narrow in diameter behind the FS to recut the splines and mount the FS. The diameter of the barrel has to be large enough to mount the FS further back. So if you want a short barrel, you are going to have to order a new one.

I have never ordered a short barrel, but I'm sure you will get replies from others who have. Can't help with the stock, either. Sorry.

Socom uses any standard M14 stock.
