I just cleaned the barrel in my rifle and was hoping to take her out to shoot some this weekend as I bought me a new cronograph (thanks N1FE) and loaded up some new ammo to check... HOWEVER life and weather rules!

We are on a frost call tonight and this weekend so I will be out working all night so hopefully next weekend!

Anyone shot or have shot Hornady 168 Amaxes with 42.0 gr H4895? Just got a box of them to try against my 155's

The driveway to my range has about 8" of virgin slush (snowed yesterday, raining now). I'm pretty sure I could get in, but not sure if I'd be able to leave.

Haven't tried H4895 at all, but accuracy wise, I'd be surprised if the 168 AMax's didn't shoot about the same as the 155.

I've tried the 168 AMax in my 1903 and 03A3 with good results. I used Varget, not 4895.

I would like to try that load in my 14.

Can I recycle an old picture? I was very impressed with this one, in that I shot a total of 10 rounds from the bench. No sighters, no excuses! ( I am quite sure this was at 200 yards) A couple of years ago.

Very uncomfortable way to shoot as my rest hold the rifle way to high for the prone position. After 3 back surgeries this was difficult to say the least. Can't wait for a dry day to try it from a bench when I'm comfortable.

Out at the Manatee County 1000yard a month or so ago. Ive gone a few more times since then but didn't take pictures.

From left to right "M1A Standard USGI Birch" "Polytech M14S USGI Birch" and a "Mini 14 that thinks its an M14"

On this picture the bench on the far left is mine. The next one to the right in the middle of the picture is my uncles with his ugly ar and his beautiful Polytech M14S in a SAI synthetic. And the far right bench is my cousins with his SAI M1A Standard in walnut.

Another M14 user was out at the range too with a Stainless barreled SAI M1A Loaded in an Archangel stock. And his friend had a SAI Socom. I didn't get their picture because they got there when we left.

I usually don't get too many pictures taken while I'm shooting, but a frame grab from a video. AFAIK, this was the first time the Arisaka had been fired since WW2; and I was test firing the first reloads I made for it.
