What to use to fill selector cutout

Looking to start trying to fill the selector hole in a GI fiberglass stock. What would be the best material to use? Marine Tex? JB Weld? Something else?

I HATE fake selector plugs.

JB Weld. Cut up a 2 liter bottle into two rectangles, spray it with release agent or PAM and tape them onto the sides to create a dam. Fill it with JB weld and sand flush.

Paint, done...

I agree on the fake plugs. I've thought about making a piece out of wood that I can affix with a backing plate

I use Marine Tex. Screw some small screws into the space as "rebars" for the Marine Tex to hold onto it. Sand to flush with stock.

You might also want to look at other gaps in and around your stock to fill them in at the same time.
