What M14 rear sight to use with Smith Ent gas lock sight?

I am having Smith Enterprises build up a LRB/TRW rifle. I just about have all my parts together.

I want to use the Smith gas lock HK style sight, but am not sure about the rear sight.

Should I use a NM rear or a standard. What aperture size (.052 or .059) if NM ? What is the aperture size of a standard?

You are better off with a larger aperature for the rear, so use the standard rear sight. This will produce a better "ghost ring" with the front.

Rear Sight

Since you are not building a NM rifle, I suggest you go with the standard M14 rear sight.
