Hoping for an answer form the collective wisdom here on the forum....

I received this part in trade for some work.

The fella who sent it doesn't have any idea what it is or what's its for. In the interest of being fair, I told him I had no idea what it is or what it's worth, but that I would find out and let him know!

Near as I can tell, it fits perfectly over a FH and has a set screw that mates perfectly with the bayo-lug. It is a nice snug fit.

I believe it is some sort of "slip-on" brake for an M1A or M-14.

The only markings on it are the numbers on the starboard side 7791661

Any info, insight and origins would be a great help! Any idea on a value would also be much appreciated!

It is a muzzle brake to be used by Automatic Rifleman, such as with the M14E2. Whether it is USGI or a copy will be up to the collective wisdom of this forum.

Yes it's the real deal USGI type 2 M14E2 stabilizer. The type 2 is harder to find than the type 3.
I only know what they sell for in the USA, I have no idea what they sell for in Canada.
