I’ve got a Howa 1500 in .308 with a heavy 20” varmint barrel that shoots .60-.75 moa with match ammo (5-shot groupings). My only real complaint is the crappy hogue stock—lots of flex in it and it just feels cheap. The bluing on them is a little thin but when I bought mine 12 years or so ago.

Howa makes a nice rifle. Mine is a Weatherby Vanguard I picked up used about 20 years ago.

H-S Precision and Bell and Carlson offer short action stocks for the Howa/Vanguard.

Well folks,

I pulled the trigger on a 24 inch 308 heavy barrel for target practice. I like shooting steel. $579 plus the $100 or so of the pukes of Commiefornia Government. And now a 10 day wait, you folks in “free states” should try a 10 day wait. California says it’s a “cooling off” period. L8899#
perhaps you should try freedom...
