There are pencil melonited AR barrels all over the place for a lot less. I have one of the 18" Ballistic Advantage SPR 7 twist on one of my rifles and it shoots quite well. Faxon has a ton of them for around 200 bucks and the Arfcommers seem to like them.

I like that one because it is 18in and rifle length gas. I'll have to check out faxon.

What are your goals for the upper? Those have been shown to produce moa groups when cold, but open up to about 3 or 4 moa when hot. Would be good for a coyote rifle, but not Prarie dog towns.

I have a voodoo Barrel on my Adams Arms piston, gun came from the factory that way. It shoots excellent.GI1
