No you will have to take a dremel and remove enough wood to allow the barrel band that comes with the mount to fir inside the stock. Its actually fairly simple to do...unless you cherish your NM stoxk that much.

Yes, the top portion attaches to the barrel with a barrel band and two allen screws. After the top portion is on, you have to seat it back in the stock...but because the barrel band is thicker than the barrel, you have to remove some wood from the stock to get it to seat. The bottom portion of the rails simply attaches to the top rail with two little levers. If you have any more questions, go see my instructional write up on
M1Arifles.com...it's under "How to remove a VLTOR rail cluster from a Socom II. You'll get it then....it's something you kind of have to see to understand.
