I still remember my Grandfather well. WWI vet, took care of us while my Dad was in Korea. He passed at age 89, in 1974. I was deployed and couldn't arrange transportation in time for his funeral. His farm was the only real home I had until I started my own family....same house for 33 years now. Miss him every day.

And the beat goes on. I remember Spanish American War vets leading our Memorial Day parade and then taking part in the ceremony on the green when I was a kid. Now the Viet vets are the seniors.

It’s been 77 years since 1945. And i
If they were 18-20 at the time they’re 95-97 now.

My Great Uncle was gassed in the Argonne Forrest. He survived. When I told him I enlisted in the National Guard in 1966 he threw a fit. Great man that knew what was going on with Vietnam Nam. He hated war and knew most wars were political, especially Nam.
Had a Uncle that fought in New Guinea.
Had another Uncle in the Army Air Corp on a B24
Another Uncle was in the National Guard
None of them had any use for politicians and neither do I.
