New to m1a, just got a used m1a loaded with wood stock, 4 ,20 round mag and 2 ,10 round mags,just took it apart going to clean and lub it up thinking of redoing stock if I can get the two screws out

Thanks southern California, grew up in southern California, Commerce, I was talking about the two screws that hold the butt plate on, I know the bottom screw is machined ,i can get it to move,it's the wood screw that will not move at all and I don't want to strip it trying to get it out.
