I just placed a backorder for five "Military Surplus Magazine Type 57 (M1A) 7.62x51mm (308 Winchester) 20-Round Steel Matte Blue".

According to the feedback on the Midway site, people have received Borg-Warner S1, & H&R mags manufactured in the 1960's, still in the original USGI packaging - two mags/pack.

They sold out in six hours the first day they were offered (last Friday). The website indicates they expect more in tomorrow.

Got my 5 before they ran out. Fit and feed fine.

8O What? Pay for Taiwanese type 57 mags but get USGI mags? You must be kidding me. 8O

I got in the "reorder" line. I received 2 blued magazines, with a small amount of rust on each. Not USGI. Might well be Taiwan mfg. The seem to have sat somewhere for a while - like a warehouse. They are not the "Western" mags, nor the parkerized mystery mags. Have not tired them yet. However, they were not overpriced. OK range mags.
