This would be a remote purchase (i.e. I can get pics but can't actually handle rifle). Is this rifle "all that" if in excellent condition and are there any questions I should ask first? Thanks for all the info so far. I have a Norinco already ,shoots great after gas cylinder unitized and only cost me $500.The cost of the NM rifle would buy me alot of ammunition.
O.K. stock is original U.S G.I. but NOT bedded. Does have national match type hooded rear sight and GI parts as outlined above. So is this what you guys call a National Match conditioned Springfield M1A? Given it's early manufacture it would still seem to me ( a readily admitted novice/big dummy, easily separated from his money when a nice rifle is around type of guy) a worthy subject of desire. No erosion readings available but bore appears excellent to honest observer.Pitfalls and traps to look for? Second owner so original purchase details unavailable. Thanks, your kind advice stands between me keeping/spending a bundle.GI1
