Ruger 1911's claim to be 100% made in USA. I own there commander it shoots good and I never had a single issue with it. The only thing I'm not crazy about is it's stainless steel, I would prefer a blued one but I got a good deal on it.

I prefer the colts but been reading some parts are from overseas. Of course I don't trust everything online..I wish I knew for sure..and don't think colt would ever own up to that or admit it..
Sti's are nice but of course the ones I like are blued and don't want to deal with that maintenance prefer a coating of some sorts..phew Wilson's are beautiful but way to high..I'm up into 1500-1600 budget not 3500..

Ruger sells a 1911 in Black Nitride for about $850.

To the best of my knowledge guys Colt 1911's are made in the USA. They do use some MIM parts I'm not big on. I purchased my last Colt this past February and I have to say the quality is head and shoulders above what they were building in the 80's and 90's.
