Shot these in my factory built FAL. Headspace is correct. I fired 40 rounds from two different lots, then noticed the one separation and bright rings from pending separations. I've never seen separations this far up the case body before. Don't know which lot they came from.

I have fired a few boxes of Perfecta .308 - I use it mainly as "fouling shots" for my various rifles before putting "good" ammo through them. I have never had any sort of problems with it.

Silly question: Did you check the headspace? Did any other ammo ever exhibit these signs?

Yes several times with the bolt disassembled. It's right in range. Never had the problem before probably 1500 rounds thru it. Normally a headspace issue crack would show up at the base of the cartridge not near the shoulder .

Improperly annealed batch of brass?
Work hardened just below the final annealing?
