Does anyone have or know were I can get information about the Improved M14 National Match Rifle developed by the U.S. Rock Island Arsenal. A picture of it is in 'Small Arms Of The World', 12th Edition, on page 156. I also remember the 'American Rifleman Magazine' had an article about it in the early 1970s, not sure which issue. Thank you very much in advance for any information.

Thank you, but the improvements also were in the gas system, barrel, stock, sights. I am mainly interested in the gas system, they did away with the floating piston. It looks like they went back to a direct type using just the oprod from the pictures.

Yes, the Product Improved M14 rifle is discussed in my book. The American Rifleman that discussed it is one of the sources I used. I'm moving over the next several days. I hope to get the manuscript to the publisher soon. The manuscript is done though.
