I bought one of these Spanish 7.62 x 51 types of rifles ages ago and sold it. The Springfield M-1A was my next long gun purchase years later.

Oh I know the M14 well.

Here is a captured M16 I took with my M14.. Bastid shot my friend in the back with it.

Did your friend live or succumb to his wounds?

Died in the tower in the background.Rich Gideon Long Island. NY., I carried him down. Kontum Jan. and Feb 1968. Lost two more in the bunker under the tower to a small recoiless rifle in the 40mm to 50mm range. John Rodriguez, Santa Maria . CA. Didn't know the last guy, from a unit that took shelter with us. I just remember he was young and brave as hell. Lost an ear next to me to AK or RPD round. It just made him pissed off. Second night of TET.
