FWIW, I have a walnut USGI stock with the following: DAS cartouche, crimped ferrule, flat/sans-serif circle P and S A stamped in the wood under the hinge plate.

Quagmire, to your knowledge, are the ferrules on the synthetic GI stocks only crimped? IOW, no dimple ferrules on GI synthetic stocks?
