OK let me ask this, is usgi generally considered "better" then the SAI?

Just from my limited experience with both the USGI does seem to have a better (smoother and maybe lighter) trigger pull.

USGI should be superior. Mostly due to the trigger pin being perpendicular to the housing and hence no trigger rub on the inside of the hooks. Also USGI housings are forged. USGI metal is much superior in regards to the hammer and trigger. SAI metals are softer.

I just performed a trigger mod on a recent manufacture SAI and I thought the group was quite nice. They seemed to have improved the safety and the pin caused no cant to the trigger. Housing was unmarked though, but still cast as it had orange peel on the inside. I replaced the hammer and trigger on the assembly with a NOS Beretta M1 hammer and USGI M14 trigger. Thought I would also replace the safety as they can be thinner and uncomfortable to flip on and off if tight, but this one was spec in terms of thickness and so I left it. No need to replace it.
