I have previous experience on the Garand, and not sure if it relates to the m1a as well.

The loaded m1a i have come with a fiberglass stock, and the trigger assembly works fine. I switched the barreled receiver to the walnut usgi stock, and now when i pull the trigger, it past the 1st stage, but seem to get stuck at the 2nd. When i pull harder on the trigger doesn't seem to drop the hammer. Which area of the walnut stock i could check for inteference?

Thanks.

The trigger is probably being blocked by the stock in the front of the little valley between the rear pads. Take a little wood out so the trigger doesn't bottom out against it. It shouldn't take more than few thousands of an inch back about a 1/8".
