That Sailor is a hero for sure. I will confess something, 23+ years in the Navy, and I never could hardly swim a lick ( officially that’s called a class 4 swimmer, if I recall). I’ve heard the comment more than once, that non-swimmers make highly motivated members of the ships damage control team and fire party. Yeah, I’d have to agree...
