I notice that the piston of my Norinco M-14 is protruding 1/16" out of the gas block, hence touching the end of the OP rod.
Is this normal ?

Thanks.

Yes, when the op rod is fully forward it should be contacting the gas piston, the gas piston should be protruding out the back of the gas cylinder by about that amount yes.

Thanks buddy, so everytime the action cycles, the op rod slams onto the gas piston, will this cause a breakage after a while (piston, gas block knob, oprod) ?
