I have a plan I want to brush past you guys. I don't belive in paying the NRA to do my fighting for me. I belive in getting down in the mud and fighting my own battles, but I also incourage it as well.
I have been thinking of doing this myself, but I want to run it past you and se if we can't get a whole national operation going.
Here is the scoop. One thing the government fears dearley is an un-tracable firearm, but what they fear even more is an un-tracable firarm that is legally posessed by an American citizn.
As we know, you can make your own firearms on 80% receivers and not have to register them, making them untracable. this also means that when they completley ban firearms, the ones you will have left are your 80% builds that they didn't know you had.
I have been planing for a while to build an aresonal of 80% base firearms to arm people with should a need come.
I am fortunate enough to be able to handle most of my own work, but not everyone is that lucky and even I occasionally need help.
What I have in mind is to get as many people to list themselves as willing to trade survices in the 80% production, such as what they seek, what they can offer and where they are ( city or county wise ) and a way to get ahold of them. I was thinking of having maybe a news letter or something with the listing so people can exchange trates and resources in producing 80% firearms. What do you guys think of all this?

JMO, the NRA has and still does protect the right to own & bear arms @ the federal level in there is a state level sportmans 2nd amendment group in every state I believe. There is no, or not supposed to be a gun registration in most states. Yes FFL holders must keep records and produce them if subpoenaed. We have done a good job fighting the anti's so far in most states. If it came down to a total ban, house to house, that would be a SHTF situation. What we really have to worry about is the chipping away, little by little of our constitutional rights. Yea I know that has already happened in the past few decades. However, we have also gained ground in the past few years. Without the NRA the AWB would not have sunsetted, more states would not have been able to have CCP's and we would have lost the election to the libs. How many here would just go to the local police station & turn in their collection or allow someone to come to their home to confiscate them. I don't believe either party want's to consider that scenario. The NRA has the $$$ to battle for us. I believe the most important thing we can do is introduce our younger generation to the shooting sports and get involved with the NRA. Complacency is our worst enemy. Others need to pick up where we leave off.

Took the liberty of moving this over into the Gun Legislation forum. Thanks, Hawk

the NRA is a nice little organization, but sometimes I do think that they really dont have gun owners best intrests at heart.

why are they not trying their best to get rid of the NICS checks, and get rid of the form 4473's as well.

both of the above processes are in fact a defacto registration, the fedgov might say that they are not keeping any info about our firearm purchases, but do you REALLY believe them.

if the NRA really wants to be helpful to the firearm owner, then they need to stop messing around, and get with the program and start kicking some butt in washington dc.

the way the NRA messes around with my 2nd Amendment is one of the reasons that I dropped my life membership to the NRA, and i will not go back to the NRA until they start doing more, right now I belong to a no nonsence group called the Gun Owners of America, they are what they NRA should be doing and the NRA is not.
