I added this too the USCG Section, they get little credit for the VN service.
I remember seeing Coast Guard patrol vessels operating with us on Operation Market Time Patrols during my third and last tour in 65-66. Operation Market Time was the sea borne interdiction of military supplies by sea smuggled into South Vietnam. Market Time was so successful that the NVA had to open up the Ho Chi Mien trail to begin getting military supplies into the South once again.

The Coast Guard Sailors certainly deserve credit for their service in our generations war. I know that we Blue Water Navy Sailors have always poked fun at the Coast Guard as being in the shallow water Navy. But they were right there with us Blue Water Sailors when it counted just like they were during past wars and police actions.
