Looks cast. I don't trust that op rod. Bolts and op rods are the particular parts I want completely USGI. YOur safety depends on them. I don't mind using aftermarket gas tubes and flash hiders. But those two pieces..have got to be USGI or I will not fire it.
Have you fitted it to a rifle? I’m curious if it slides well in the track. Looks chinese to me. Chinese op rods are forged, I believe, and can be very good. With the Chinese parts I’ve seen, the machining can vary in how it looks.
It may be a very early unmodified Chinese op rod for a select fire rifle, or it may be Taiwanese military or South Korean made. Typically Chinese op rods have electro pencil numbers engraved on them though.
It looks to be one piece forged with a possible weld repair (maybe to repair a cosmetic forging flaw?) It does not look to be de-milled and welded back together.
It also looks like it has been used, maybe on a select fire receiver. If it fits your receiver, I think it would work fine.
As buckshotu2 stated, it appears Chinese. Chinese op rods are forged, and are good to go. I have 3, and none of mine have electro pencil engraving on them.
I’m going to use it. I have two Chinese rifles to compare it to. It was part of a lot I bought.
