I don't know. However I have heard all Tech Sight stuff is made in China, if that helps with a decision.

I know it does for me.DISHOUT
Heh. It helps, but in this case doesn't entirely put me off since my choice of sights for the SOCOM is so thin to begin with.

All I want is a thinner blade up front, and I really don't want to increase the length of the gun with SEI's gas lock option.

I thought maybe I would get used to that brick up front on the SOCOM, but it is just too annoying.

Is there ANY decent option for a thinner sight on the SOCOM with the stock gas lock/muzzle brake?

I dont own a SOCOM. Is the front sight base the same as a standard M14? I ordered a taller NM .062" front sight today made for a Scout length barrel after some adjustment problems on my full size. $41 direct from SAI though- ouch. May want to call them-

The dovetail is the same. My understanding is that the SOCOM has a taller sight, the Scout has the next tallest, followed by the Standard.

A Standard sight won't work on a SOCOM. It isn't tall enough, so POI is quite a bit above POA.

I'm not sure, but I believe the Scout sight will work on either a Standard, or SOCOM. On the Standard, you'd need to raise the rear sight to compensate. On the SOCOM, you need to drop it.

But I'm not positive. If someone can confirm this, I'd appreciate it.. just trying to figure out what my options are.

Get the front for the Scout, the two are supposed to be the same. You may want to change the rear also, that ghost ring is going to be really big with a standard width blade. Depending on the cost you might want to try the sight pictured, looks like a good idea although a little unusual in appearance.

Yeah, it is a little odd looking. Might be neat to stick a fiber optic AR15 sight up front though.

I don't think the rear sight would necessarily bother me, but year.. if the Scout sights would work, I think I would just opt to get NM Scout sights all around.
