The mount has a groove machined to the M16 A1/A2 carry handle specs with rail along the top edges. You remove the ACOG rail mount and install using the built in ACOG base to get it as low as possible. When viewing the irons you are looking through the hole in the ACOG base like you could do when it is mounted on a A1/A2. Like the SEI mount these are the best to get the 4 power ACOG's mounted back and low enough to be usable, I have one but went a different direction so not using it right now, it is nice that it fits on the Sage with no modification. If you want one as stated above go to GDI direct, same mount lower costs. BTW the TA01 or 31 4 power ACOG is not the best choice for the M14 due to short eye relief, the TA11 or 33 work much better.Probobly a nice piece as it should be for the price.
But if you view the irons thru a channel below the rail, low profile seems like a misnomer?
