i really dont agree with the above for guages. for milsurps, i have never seen a rifle that is short on headspace, therefore the go guage is unnecessary (if your rebarreling, you do need it). now this is my own preference, but if it will close on a no go guage, im not shooting it, so for me the field guage is not needed,if you dont mind a rifle that will eat a no go guage, then you for sure should have a field guage. $18-$25 for a guage that may save your eyesight is well worth it.

If this is the idea, then you would not need any gauges at all because you can use the SIZED case to gauge with.
3 of my Mauser's are like this. I can't just shoot any ammo in them due to high pressure. I normally load two grains under max.

sized brass is NOT a replacement for headspace guages.
