Make Suppressors Illegal?

I’ve got two sitting in suppressor jail right now. Should have they’re walking papers any day now.

All B.S.

Doesn‘t matter what part of guns, ammo or accessories it is… they won’t stop trying to take the stuff away.

Haven't they seen The Walking DEAD?

Suppressors are the only hope for humanity!

It’s sad that we have suppressors on the NFA in the first place. In other countries people can buy them over the counter without any paperwork, like buying a pack of gum. It’s considered a courtesy to use them for the noise reduction, like a muffler on an automobile.

Agree ^^^^^^^^. Suppressors should be the norm for hearing protection and kindness to others. I have been using them for decades, on the weekends, to provide some semblance of quiet for the NYers that invade our lake community during the warmer months. Just a courtesy and for my own health. Whatta Hobby!

Is there a way to get status on approvals? I’ve been waiting 8 months now. I’d like to know it didn’t get dropped in the system.
I've had a rimfire can on order since 2/3/23. Waiting for ATF.

I just got mine free last month and it has been since the end of August 2022

I hope that means I’m close. Mine was submitted Sept 2022 form 4 single shot trust.

Some bigger gun forum sites have a forum topic where users who filed a Form 4, for example, state in general terms what device they submitted their Form 4 on such and such date, whether it was e-filed or paperwork filed, whether it was for an individual or some other entity (like a trust) and how long it took, and you can sort of get an idea from that.

Very recently I heard some folks talking at LGS that the avg turnaround on e-filed form 4's for a suppressor on a trust were taking 8-9 months for the approvals to come back.

Wow.
You all SUCK! (Said affectionately of course)

Complaining about owning something that helps keep you healthy (hearing) while those of us who live in a communist prison... almost as bad as NorK... where all NFA weapons are banned.
(This is IL where El Fatzo could be a long lost half brother of Kim whatever...)

I would gladly live with the suppressor jail time because its a step up from what we have now.

As to this bill... its DOA. (Look at the sponsor... a NJ criminal who's somehow allowed to sit in office)

There's more I'd like to say... my hope is that the IL AWB goes to SCOTUS and then here in IL we get a lawsuit to fight SBRs and Suppressors.
But I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Yeah, SilencerShop has that data and form 4 e filed trust wait is 9 months. That pissed me off since E file was supposed to be very quick
When I purchased the second can. I should have just done a doc file and not gone with E file.

I would love to have a few suppressers to protect what's left of my hearing.
I don't what to jump through hoops just to own one.

Only one hoop and once you get one you'll get the bug and end up with a bunch.

My first was a 22 Sparrow. After picking it up and using it a week I ordered more. If I had disposable funds right now, there would be more coming

@ChicagoMike, respectfully, please consider following in my footsteps out of Socialist Utopia of ill-annoy to a red state. After selling many guns, power tools, anything I could sell and the house and relocating to SC. Life has been truly joyful. Am in an apartment currently while waiting for the right house opportunity. Sure, I miss my gun room and reloading bench at the moment but it’s temporary. I’m ctill chuckling about almost butt stroking the mirror off the bathroom wall cleaning a Garand in the bathroom. In the mean time I have 3 suppressors in the pipe line. I went with the home team “Rugged” as they’re local. Really looking forward to the Alaskan 360 on the BULA paratrooper. Bottom line, for Me, living in IL I was supporting the people and Government that hates Me. So I left. Just waiting on the IL tax return, it’s the last thread to be cut, My CPA says We’re gonna have to fight them in it but We’ll win in the end.

Well, I have been in the NFA world long enough to remember when form 4's would come through in as little as 6 weeks and form 3's would be a few days. You were simple waiting on the mail back then. But I also remember the funding cut back at the NFA branch when thing were running to good. The lead time was up to 2 years for a form4 on anything . That is how long it took for the first can I bought from Kent Lomont. I know waiting sucks, I think 8to9 months is not great , at least its not 2 years.

And there was a phone number for that very polite older lady in WV that would look it up and tell you what status you were currently in.
