I bought a "Big Red" Birch M14 stock today and it has R W V on the bottom of the pistol grip and the number 6310 above the R W V . Also has a large H under the butt stock. Any Ideals on what RWV stands for ? I think maybe the H may be for H&R, but Iam not really for sure. Thanks for any info.

The initials were probably put in there by the owner as well as the ser# of whatever make receiver he had. This is not a standard military practice that I know of. The H under the butt plate is for H&R as far as I know.
