Absolutely outstanding! Nothing beats wood & steel and if it’s got Winchester written on it, well that’s down my alley. She really looks good! Furniture looks in good shape and still a nice reddish color. I like it!
Well this is not a .41 magnum, its a .401 Winchester..a bit different. My brother recently bought a Henry Big Boy in 41 Magnum, talk about expensive ammo!
I did shoot it yesterday for the first time. Reminds me of shooting the Remington 8/81 semi auto rifles, very similar in recoil impulse as both are moving a lot of metal around. The bolt in this rifle is a big ass hunk of iron, built that way I guess to properly run the action.Beautiful piece of history! Must be a blast to shoot.
OOps, sorry, wrong gun. Not the .401wsl, Teddy liked the .405 Winchester.I picked up a 1907 in .351wsl about a year ago. I did manage to find some loaded ammo for it, and have found info on making brass out of 5.56 nato brass. These are very interesting rifles for as old as they are.
Teddy Roosevelt was a big fan of your rifle for hunting.
The Ohio Highway Patrol used to carry these rifles in the cruisers in the earlier days.
Yeah there is a whole lot of difference between the two, I own both.OOps, sorry, wrong gun. Not the .401wsl, Teddy liked the .405 Winchester.
They have thing fine vintage looks that makes then look better with age.I Love the old ones! All just in a class of their own!!
